Upon graduating with her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2011, Dr. Marie-Christine Bourque, podiatrist, embarked on a great professional adventure by opening her first podiatric clinic in Lévis.
A training rich in knowledge and experiences
After working for 5 years as a clinical nurse, Dr. Bourque wanted to enhance her professional journey by pursuing studies in podiatry at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR). Her 4-month externship at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM) also allowed her to put all these new learnings into practice.
Despite her extensive skill set, this rigorous podiatrist continues to enrich her practice in various ways:
- She has notably taken a specialized course in complex wound care, called International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC), at the University of Toronto.
- Additionally, she is actively involved in the disciplinary committee of the Order of Podiatrists of Quebec.
Since opening her clinic, Dr. Bourque, podiatrist, has treated several cases of diabetic foot. She also has a strong interest in biomechanics and pediatric podiatry.
