A true expert in her field, Dr. Marie-Christine Torchon, podiatric surgeon, has been a member of the Gatineau Podiatric Clinic team since 2016. Highly sought after for her expertise, Dr. Torchon, podiatric surgeon, serves as a consultant in foot surgery at two other facilities in Montreal and Laval.
An inspiring academic and professional journey
With an impressive educational background, podiatric surgeon Marie-Christine Torchon holds a degree in cellular and molecular biology from Concordia University since 2002. A year later, she began her studies in podiatric medicine at the highly regarded New York College of Podiatric Medicine, from which she graduated with the honors of Magna Cum Laude and Salutatorian.
To acquire the practical skills required for the role of podiatric surgeon, she completed a 3-year surgical residency in Boston at the Cambridge Health Alliance (affiliated with Harvard University).
More recently, Dr. Torchon, podiatric surgeon, participated in a graduate microprogram in international health at the University of Sherbrooke. Additionally, she will complete a graduate diploma in public health undertaken at ESPUM by June 2020.
Although she applies her foot surgery expertise to various types of patients, Marie-Christine Torchon, DPM, also contributes to training the next generation of podiatrists. Indeed, she is currently a professor in radiology at UQTR. Furthermore, from 2011 to 2017, she served as the educational director of the podiatric clinic at the same educational institution.

While the sum of her professional involvements is already impressive, the podiatric surgeon also stands out for her volunteer commitment.
As vice-president of the Association of Podiatrists Without Borders, she has traveled to Bolivia, Cameroon, Morocco, and Tanzania as part of several humanitarian trips. Moreover, she founded the community podiatric clinic of OMHTR, specifically dedicated to low-income patients.
